Day 2 - Tallinn
It was a bit cloudy first thing this morning but the sun gradually came out and it was a warm day.
After breakfast we made for the indoor market, which is very close to the railway station. There were a lot of stalls, mostly selling ladies clothing and souvenirs, but not many people about.
We tried to find a coastal boardwalk that was shown on the map but the area was being redeveloped so we made our way to the harbour. In the area we saw a lot of community gardens where herbs and vegetables were being grown and was free for anyone to pick. We saw Lemon Balm, strawberries, tomatos, sage, thyme and chives.
We went into the old town and had coffee and cake in a lovely cafe before a bit more sightseeing to other places of interest including St Katherines Passage and Holy Spirit Church with a very attractive clock.
We then went to sit by Schnelli Lake Lake in the sunshine where we watched people coming to feed the ducks and pigeons. One woman emptied a whole carrier bag of bird food around the lake side much to the delight of the wildlife.
We then walked back to the hotel through a park alongside the city walls and towers where there were more community gardens.
After a rest at the hotel we went back to the Old Town for dinner at a restaurant in St Catherines Passage that we had seen earlier in the day and then for a drink at a German Beer House.
